
Dr Charles Massambu
Dr Charles Gomborojo Massambu, graduated with Masters of Medicine in Anatomical Pathology (Mmed Anat Path) in 1998, from University of Dar Es Salaam (UDSM); Masters of Science in Biomedical Science (MSc Biomed Sci) at Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden in 2004; and is a Fellow Member of College of Pathologist Eastern Central & Southern Africa (FCPath ECSA) since Aug, 2014.
He has held several positions as a Lecturer at the Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS) from 2001 to 2006, Assistant Director, Ministry of Health (MoH) Tanzania from 2006 to 2019; and Senior Lecturer University of Dodoma (UDOM) from 2019 to date. He, also, serves as the President of the Association of Pathologists of Tanzania (APT); and he served as the Patron of Tanzania Medical Laboratory Students (TAMELASA) from 2010 to 2020.
His interest is mainly in implementation of Laboratory Quality Management System (QMS) specifically based on ISO 15189:2022 standard, Laboratory Biosafety and Biosecurity (Biorisk Management System). He is CLSI certified subject master trainer of laboratory quality management system (QMS); in particular: QMS Mentorship; QMS Assessment and QMS Internal Audit. He is also a Sandia National Laboratory (SNL) certified advanced trainer of biorisk management and shipping of infectious substances based on the Global Biorisk Management Curriculum; and IFBA certified Biorisk Management (BRM) Trainer based on ISO 35001:2019 Standard.
